The SUSI Grant Application System will open on 23 April, 2015
SUSI will open its online grant application system for the 2015/16 academic year on Thursday, 23 April, 2015, two weeks earlier than last year.
Information on grant eligibility and how to apply is available at the SUSI website www.susi.ie
Before making an application, students are encouraged to refer to the http://www.susi.ie/Should-I-apply/General-criteria.aspx. and to use the http://www.susi.ie/Should-I-apply/Eligibility-Reckoner.aspx provided on the SUSI website.
The eligibility reckoner is provided by SUSI to assist students in deciding whether they should apply for a student grant. It provides a quick indication of eligibility for grant funding based on the answers given to 10 questions without completing and submitting a full online grant application.
Students are also encouraged to apply early and to note the following tips:

- if applying for a course through the CAO, you should tick the SUSI option on your CAO form indicating that you also intend to apply to SUSI for a student grant: this will allow CAO to share details of your course directly with SUSI when you accept a CAO place offer;
- you should ensure that your personal details and those of your parents, spouse, etc. are correct so that SUSI can obtain essential data directly from other agencies: incorrect dates of birth or PPSN details will delay the processing of your application;
- where there is self-employment income in your household, you should ensure that self-employment tax returns for 2014 are filed as early as possible: your application cannot be decided until SUSI has received copies of the following:
- a full set of trading accounts for 2014
- the form of acknowledgement of self-assessment received from the Revenue Commissioners when tax returns for 2014 are filed
